1. Who we are
This notice explains how Blent Group Limited, trading as blent (blent, we, us), collects and uses personal information when you visit blentgroup.com, contact us, request technical information, apply for or take part in a pilot, enquire about a partnership or investment, or otherwise interact with our business. Our registered office is Higher Corscombe Farm, Corscombe Lane, Okehampton, EX20 1SD, United Kingdom (company number 16892761), and you can contact us at [email protected]. For the processing described here, we act as the data controller.
2. What information we collect
Depending on your interaction with us, we may collect your name, job title, business contact details, company, country, enquiry details, application or project information, records of our correspondence and requested resources. When you visit the website, our hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type in server logs, for security and to deliver the site. If you choose to provide additional information in a message, we will use it in connection with your enquiry. Please don't submit confidential or sensitive personal information unless we have agreed an appropriate method.
3. How we collect information
We collect information directly from you through website forms, emails and other business communications. We may also receive business contact details from your organisation, referrals or publicly available professional sources where appropriate and lawful.
4. Why we use personal information and the lawful basis
Enquiries and business communications: To receive, assess, route and respond to enquiries, pilot applications, resource requests and potential projects. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to business contacts and developing relevant relationships, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
Customer, pilot or partner arrangements: To negotiate, administer and perform agreements, share technical material and test results (including customer-specific videos on password-protected pages), coordinate evaluations and keep business records. Lawful basis: contract, legitimate interests or legal obligation, depending on the circumstances.
Website operation and security: To operate, maintain and protect our website and prevent misuse. Lawful basis: legitimate interests and, where applicable, legal obligation.
Analytics and advertising measurement: With your consent, we use analytics tools to understand how the website is used and how our campaigns perform. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via Cookie settings.
Company updates: If we send occasional business updates, we do so in line with data protection and electronic marketing rules. You can opt out at any time and we will honour that.
Compliance and legal claims: To meet legal obligations and protect our legal rights. Lawful basis: legal obligation and legitimate interests.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered that our interests are not overridden by your rights. You can object at any time (see section 9).
5. Sharing personal information
We share personal information with service providers who process it on our behalf and under contract: Netlify, Inc. (website hosting and form handling), Vimeo, Inc. (hosting some customer videos shown on password-protected pages), and our email and business software providers. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC). We may also share information with professional advisers when necessary, and with partners or suppliers where needed to deal with your request, subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers, including Netlify and Vimeo, are based in the United States. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we make sure it is protected, either because the recipient is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or through the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it:
- Enquiries that don't lead to a project: up to 2 years from our last contact.
- Pilot, customer and partner records: for the length of the relationship and 6 years afterwards, to meet legal, tax and contractual requirements.
- Business update contacts: until you opt out, after which we keep a record only to make sure we don't contact you again.
- Website server logs: as held by our hosting provider for security purposes, typically no more than 30 days.
When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
8. Security
We take appropriate organisational and technical measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the site and password protection for customer-specific pages. No internet transmission or system can be guaranteed completely secure.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your personal information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can object to direct marketing at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

We use optional analytics and advertising cookies only if you agree to them. See our Cookie notice for details and to change your choice.
